Hi all
Some raw renders of my recent work from 3Ds Max and ZBrush. At the beginning of my interest in 3D I swore I would not make any weapons, but some time ago I bought great tutorial from Simon Fuchs, curious about some speed technics from professional game artist. Along the way, I decided to expand my work, and make 3D historical copy of the real weapon, as far as possible, without original gun, and exact sizes, only by reference photos.
To be honest, I am enchanted by the Mauser C96 Broomhandle. The way it is made, like a mechanical puzzle (the only screw in the whole structure connects the wooden cladding of the handle), the rounded shapes of individual elements, the way it works, all this made me spend a lot of time exploring its design and operation.
I am halfway there, yet the last corrections in the high poly model before me, next in row, low poly retopology and texturing. I plan to make two models: one historical, maybe animated, and the other game ready. Thanks for watching.
